About Sawbill
Sawbill's founders, Frank and Mary Alice Hansen, strike out on a canoe trip with children Karl, Ruth Anna and Bill in 1957.
The Sawbill Outfitters store and rental outfit was completed in 1958.
The 2004 Sawbill crew (and Homer) stands in front of the same store.
Sawbill Canoe Outfitters was started in 1957 by Frank and Mary Alice Hansen.

They started with a few sleeping bags and six canoes.

Today, in its 52nd year, Sawbill Canoe Outfitters offers a full line of services, from ultra-lightweight Kevlar canoes and graphite paddles to general store stocked with fresh foods and cold drinks.
